My Hair Loss Journey & Why I Created the High-Touch Scalp Renewal Massage + Blowout

Hair loss can be one of the most emotional and frustrating journeys — and trust me when I say, I completely understand.
I didn’t set out to become a scalp health advocate.
Like so many women, I found myself thrown into it when my own hair started changing in ways I never expected.

Today, I want to share my story, what I’ve learned, and how it's inspiring a new service that I’m truly passionate about bringing to life.

How My Hair Changed

At first, it was small things: a little more shedding in the shower, a few extra strands on my pillow. I chalked it up to seasonal changes, stress, or even the usual "life getting busy" excuses we all tell ourselves.

But then the changes became impossible to ignore:

  • Thinning on the front sides of my hairline — the spots I always saw first in the mirror.

  • Less density and thickness throughout — my hair felt lighter, flatter, and more fragile.

  • An itchy, irritated scalp — something I had never struggled with before.

  • Growing out my layers revealed just how thin certain areas had become — every time the wind blew or I pulled my hair back, it made me painfully aware of it.

  • Then Confirmed by my long time Stylist friend who had her hands in my hair saying she noticed a significant change in my hair and how she also saw the same in many of her menopausal clients and also those on semaglutide meds.

It wasn’t just a cosmetic thing. It became a deeply emotional thing. Hair is so tied to how we feel about ourselves — our femininity, our confidence, even our identity.

For a while, I felt like I was quietly hiding it. Keeping it up in a messy bun or ponytail pretending it wasn’t bothering me when it absolutely was. Then discovering that because my roots were dark, made it stand out even more and knowing that it can also lead to traction alopecia was an added source of stress.

What Was Causing My Hair Loss?

As I started researching (and obsessing, if I'm being honest), I took a Hair Loss Specialist course at USTI (Licensing coming soon!) and was educated on the many different factors that can cause Alopecia. ie: hair loss:

  • Hormonal changes (hello, menopause and perimenopause)

  • Medication side effects

  • Nutritional deficiencies (like iron, vitamin D, protein)

  • Chronic stress

  • Age-related follicle shrinkage

  • Medical conditions or autoimmune triggers

  • Trichotillomania an impulse control disorder where one pulls out their hair.

In my case, it was a perfect storm: hormonal shifts, medication adjustments, stress, lack of sleep, and nutritional gaps all piling up behind the scenes.

A Quick Word About "Alopecia"

Many people hear the word alopecia and immediately think of autoimmune diseases like alopecia areata.
But in truth, alopecia simply means "hair loss" — and it can be triggered by many everyday things:

  • Hormonal changes

  • Nutrient deficiencies

  • Stress

  • Medications

  • Genetics

  • Aging

Some types of alopecia are permanent — but many are temporary and reversible when caught early and supported properly.
That’s where scalp health comes in.

Why Scalp Health Matters So Much

The more I learned, the more obvious it became:
Your scalp is the foundation for your hair.

  • A clogged, irritated, or neglected scalp = poor hair growth.

  • A nourished, balanced scalp = stronger, healthier, thicker hair.

It’s like trying to grow a beautiful garden in unhealthy soil — it just doesn't work.
And sadly, scalp care is one of the most overlooked parts of our beauty and wellness routines.

Introducing the High-Touch Scalp Renewal Massage + Blowout

This personal journey led me to create a new service — something I wish had existed for me earlier.

The High-Touch Scalp Renewal Massage + Blowout is a one-hour experience designed to:

✨ Detoxify the scalp
✨ Boost circulation and stimulate healthy hair growth
✨ Nourish the hair follicles with rich botanicals
✨ Relieve scalp tension and irritation
✨ Leave your hair feeling refreshed, revitalized, and beautifully styled

And here’s the part I’m most excited about:
You’ll enjoy the scalp massage portion comfortably reclined in our cozy Brow and Lash Lounge bed — like a spa facial, but for your scalp.
Afterward, we’ll move to the shampoo area to cleanse and finish with a professional blowout and style.

It’s luxurious, therapeutic, and focused entirely on restoring your scalp (and your confidence).

Special Launch Offer:

Because I'm still expanding and perfecting my hands-on scalp massage skills,
I’m offering a limited-time launch special:

🌿 First 10 clients: Special introductory price of $85 (regularly $115)

If You’re Struggling With Hair Loss, You’re Not Alone

You’re not broken.
You’re not imagining it.
And you absolutely deserve support, healing, and care — not judgment.

One thing I always encourage:
Be honest — with yourself, with your stylist, and with your hair.

Just like your healthcare providers need full information to give you the best care,
your hair care journey needs that same honesty.

Many people feel embarrassed to share what medications they're taking, what DIY treatments they've tried, or how long they've noticed changes.
They worry they'll be judged.
But in truth, the more I know, the better I can help you.

Whether it's stress, hormones, medication side effects, heat damage, or anything else —
it’s all valuable information that shapes how we approach your scalp care, your hair recovery, and the products and treatments I recommend for you.

No judgment. Ever.
Only real support, real solutions, and a plan customized for you.

✨ I would be honored to help you take the first step toward healthier, stronger, more radiant hair.
✨ Let’s heal, strengthen, and glow — together.
