Wardrobe styling is a highly specialized skill set—it’s far more than just having a good eye for fashion. It requires meticulous planning, strategic decision-making, and seamless coordination with multiple departments to ensure everything aligns with the overall production vision. I can’t even begin to relay how important these are.

Too often does my phone ring from colleuges stating “ I WISH THEY HIRED YOU FOR THIS!” after dealing with an inexperienced unProfessional who overcommitted themselves for a job they were completely underqualified for that resulted in production delays, rescheduling and massive costs incurred for going into overtime.

When selecting a wardrobe stylist—whether it’s me or someone else—it’s crucial to choose someone with extensive experience in the industry. Wardrobe is a labor-intensive, detail-oriented process that, if not handled properly, can create costly setbacks.

Hiring based solely on budget can lead to major issues on set, from ill-fitting costumes and missing pieces to last-minute scrambling that delays production. These avoidable mistakes can quickly translate into thousands of dollars in overtime costs, not to mention unnecessary stress.

Not only do I meet all of these qualifications, I have a passion for selecting and coordinating clothing and accessories. Developing costumes & wardrobe worn by actors and actresses in television shows and movies is especially rewarding. When working closely with the director, production designer, and costume designer it Helps to create the overall visual aesthetic bringing the characters to life through wardrobe.

I have a strong background in fashion, wardrobe styling and buying. I possess a keen eye for detail, creativity, have strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

COSTUME RESEARCH

I conduct extensive research with inter department coordination to gather ideas and inspiration for costumes that align with the script, time period, and character personalities. This may involve studying historical fashion, contemporary trends, or specific cultural references.

Wardrobe Selection & Fittings

Curating appropriate clothing, shoes, and accessories for each character in collaboration with the costume designer. Considering factors such as character development, story arc, color schemes, and visual appeal.

Scheduling and overseeing fittings with actors to ensure proper fit and comfort of costumes. If alterations are needed I work closely with a tailor or seamstress to modify garments as needed.

Maintenance & Continuity

Having organizational OCD is what drives my meticulous orginzation and maintenance of costumes throughout every production. This includes cleaning, repairs, and organizing the wardrobe department.

Shopping & Budget Management

I’m Always working within the allocated costume budget, keeping track of expenses and sourcing costumes and accessories that meet the production's financial constraints.

Department Collaboration

I work closely with hair and makeup departments to ensure the overall look of the characters is cohesive. I also coordinate with the set design team to ensure the costumes complement the production's visual design and overall aesthetic.

Wardrobe Storyboard Creation

Creating a wardrobe storyboard takes approximately one hour per talent with three wardrobe changes per day, provided all necessary information is accurate and no major revisions are required. For reference, a three-day shoot with five talent (two talent per day for two days, and one talent for the entire third day) would typically require 6-7 hours to develop a storyboard, allowing for minor adjustments.

Wardrobe Sourcing & Shopping
The time required for wardrobe shopping depends on the complexity of the looks and availability of items. If the requested pieces are in-season, common, and in standard sizes, sourcing can take approximately 3-4 hours. However, specialty items or unique sizing may require additional time for sourcing and shipping. For example, a size 0 model who is 6 feet tall will likely need wardrobe sourced online rather than from a local retailer. In such cases, extra planning is necessary to account for processing and delivery timelines.

Talent-Provided Wardrobe
If the wardrobe is being provided by the talent, I require direct communication with the talent to ensure all looks align with the creative vision. This includes ample time for back-and-forth discussions, photo approvals, video calls, and adjustments to avoid any last-minute issues.

  • Too busy to come in for a consultation or perhaps living too far away? No worries at all! We can easily set up a virtual consultation. All you will need is a device equipped with a good camera, a solid internet connection, and a tailor's measuring tape.

    Together, we can accurately find your measurements and determine your unique body type, which will allow us to seamlessly move forward with the rest of your wardrobe consultation. You’ll be surprised at how efficiently we can work together from the comfort of your own space!

I’ll guide you through the process of decluttering and revamping your space, helping you identify items that no longer serve their original purpose. Together, we’ll create a curated collection that reflects your style and meets your current needs.   • Initial consultations (virtual or in person) Here we measure your sizes, do a style intake. Afterwards I will customize a styling storyboard at a rate of $85.

    Wardrobe and Closet Overhauls are charged in ½ day up to 5 hours and 1 full day rate up to 10 hours for the time of the project and travel to & from.

    For example a half day is considered 4-5 hours. If travel is a total of 2 hours, and your closet overhaul takes 3 hours, you will be charged ½ day rate. If your closet takes 6 hours, and travel is 5 hours. you would be charged a full day rate, plus overtime and travel epenses.

    Travelis included for the first 30 miles and is $0.70 per mile after that, plus any parking or tolls acquired during travel.
