MakeUp Artist, Genn Shaughnessy
As a beauty blogger, MakeUp Artist and Beauty Junkie who's reviewed thousands of products, it's hard to impress me, especially when it comes to mascara claims.
I was Super stoked to try out the new @yslbeauty Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils, but as usual was hesitant to believe that it could live up to it's promise, especially a $32.00 mascara that claims "absolute dramatic lashes in a single stroke".
"The nylon fiber brush coats each lash in deep color and maximum volume from root to tip, while B5 Pro-Vitamin strengthens and protects lashes."
The formula is nice, the bristles are close together allowing for good separation and coverage. The smell is pleasant without being extremely perfumed and overpowering. I like the sleek tube and the long applicator handle and it's weight. Even though it says "single stroke" out of habit and compulsion I still find myself using multiple top and bottom strokes.
Overall I would say everything is positive. Would I buy this mascara again? I would definitely treat myself to this once in awhile. Unfortunately it's a little out of my makeup allowance, so I wouldn't be able to buy it on the reg. However, if it's in your regular beauty budget, I would definitely encourage you do!
